Cameron's idea of democracy

Cameron likes to present himself as all things to all men.  Sometimes this can present some very bizarre contradictions.  Hence he can lecture the Middle East about democracy, even though he himself has no electoral mandate to push through his half-baked and dangerous policies.  

Added to which, his fine words about democracy seem bizarrely hypocritical in the same week that he was trying to flog arms to regimes that ruthlessly put down rebellions with those same armaments.

Cameron's all for democracy - especially if it means making a fast buck out of shooting pro democracy demonstrators.

Francis Maude: Talking BS  - the Big Society, that is

Francis Maude, Conservative MP for Horsham, is a leading advocate of Cameron's flagship policy of the Big Society.  


Most people would agree that volunteering is a Good Thing.  However, it's quite a different matter when it's within the context of drastic cuts to public services.  Frankly, people feel that their good nature is being taken advantage of.  

So Francis Maude faces quite a task to talk up Dave's Big Society idea.  Presumably he practices what he preaches?
